We were very happy, in fact, it was a milestone in the life of artbridge when Orsolya Lengl applied to us, as she is a recognized and experienced painter who, at the same time, has an attitude and drive true to her youth. His beautiful paintings and vibrant colors attract the eye, while his subjects make you think more deeply. Personal, intimate, yet brave and life-affirming. These are Orsi's prints for us, which we proudly present to you on the artbridge webshop page!
What were your first drawings about that you remember specifically?
My first drawings, which could already be interpreted, were made in kindergarten. At that time, I drew a lot of princessy things, and it is also clear that I liked to neatly arrange the colored pencils either by size or color. And I also remember that I won some kind of national drawing competition in kindergarten, with a drawing of a princess. But I have an old photo about these period, attached below. I can't be seen in the picture because I'm holding the drawing. I made it for my sister's birthday. I was approx. 6 years old.

What is your best memory from your childhood?
I don't know how old I was, it must have happened before I was 10 years old, and it's a little bit related to the artwork. This is a memory of when it was winter and there was a lot of snow, and I built a snowman alone in our yard. It was then that I had my first flow experience. Of course, I can only interpret this with my current knowledge. Because I remember I was out in the cold, hours passed, it got dark outside. But I didn't notice anything of this, I was just making my snowman look perfect.
Where did you learn to draw, when did it become clear that this was your path?
For me it was approx. at the age of 18, when I realized that I wanted to do this at all costs. I went to the open day of the University of Pécs, where you could go into the studios, talk to students and creators, and look around. Then I felt that I arrived home and this was my place. From then on, I drew a lot to get an admission. I attended several teachers' class to get prepared for the university.

What topic and technique are you working on now, how do you spend your creative days?
In short, the topic I deal with is the relationship between photography and painting, I have been dealing with this for years. I have examined this topic from numerous angles and it still gives me some challenges. In addition, there are recurring themes and motifs that appear cyclically. I used to experiment with many techniques, even sometimes today. However, the oil-on-canvas technique that I am committed to, which is the noblest and highest-quality material for me.
Your favorite city? Favorite place to travel to?
Montenegro is my favorite. I've been there twice already, but I hope to get there a few more times. I am more attracted to the countryside and the landscape than to big cities.

Who is your favorite author? What music inspires you these days?
To be honest, I read quite a few novels, somehow it never really caught my attention, I was only interested in art books, so I don't even have a favorite author. Lately I've been listening to retro hip hop, Eminem, Dr. Dre, 2Pac. Anyway, I like several different music styles and eras, listening to music always depends on my mood.
Are there any things, processes, or factors shaping the fate of our society that are of particular concern to you right now?
The melting of the ice caps particularly interests me, I also made a series of paintings about it before.
